近年來隨著社會風氣改變，大家對於性別的認知，似乎已經顛覆了一般的傳統。不少女性打扮中性，展現帥氣模樣；反之也有不少男性，可能天生麗質，打扮成女裝後，舉手投足之間似乎更顯嬌媚。近幾年出現「偽娘」一詞，現在日本國內，有9名深受歡迎的「偽娘」模特兒，也準備要出寫真集了。
究竟「偽娘」的定義為何？它至的是容貌美麗酷似女性的正常男人，即使穿上女性的服裝也沒不協調感，有的聲音也如同女性，天生的（手術與藥物者不是偽娘）。而根據「維基百科」的定義，被稱得上為偽娘者，雖生理上為男性，容貌多天生有女性化的美，身形也不會如一般男性般壯大，從外觀上與女性相近甚至無異，甚至在非生理性別本位的社交場合採以女士身份打扮參與。

「偽娘」在外表上幾乎與女性無異，特別是在日本，還有專屬的偽娘模特兒。現在這9名最受歡迎的模特兒，即將出版寫真集，負責拍攝的攝影師立花央奈子表示，「愛美無關性別，不少愛穿女裝的男性，單純只是喜歡打扮得漂亮可愛，相信這本寫真集，可以獲得許多人的共鳴。」
這本寫真集的內容，偽娘們除了有正統黑髮的清純學生系打扮外、另外像是華麗公主系、夢幻少女系、淘氣姐妹花等，也都是這本寫真集會呈現的內容。
