民進黨立委劉建國今（2）日舉行記者會，爆料衛生福利部食品藥物管理署〈簡稱食藥署〉，上月9日到14日舉辦第20屆PIC/S血液、組織及細胞專家圈會議，地點選在五星級的晶華酒店，還到圓山飯店辦晚宴，根據標案資料，花費高達350萬元。劉建國質疑，國家經費有限，為什麼不選擇福華會館、交通部國際會議中心等政府所屬的公設場地？「衛福部不顧社會觀感，不知苦民所苦，浪費公帑，這個國家生病了！」
劉建國表示，就他了解，這次會議出席的學者專家才50多人，一天半的會議就燒掉350萬元，等於一個人一天花費五到六萬元，他質疑，這還不包括食藥署向國科會、藥廠、藥商、醫療器材商等爭取募款贊助，劉建國說，究竟是什麼樣的會議，需要花這麼多錢？他批評這更有違馬政府標榜的「節儉廉能」！
與會的食藥署風險管理組副組長李明鑫解釋，以我國國際處境，能參與國際組織都不容易，這次是PIC/S（國際醫藥品稽查協約組織）主動邀約，希望我國今年承辦國際會議，我方當然義不容辭，因PIC/S要求須在市區的國際飯店會議廳，所以也上簽到當時的衛生署，獲得同意，且350萬元不是只有國際會議與晚宴，還有行前的會議、網站架構、以及後續的作業都包含在內，願意再提供詳細數字給立委參考。
